Project Scope:  Tore off pitch and gravel roof over phenolic insulation.  Mechanically fastened ISO board insulation to deck, mopped perlite insulation, and 4-ply pitch and gravel application.

Phenolic insulation has been found to deteriorate the metal deck it comes in contact with over time.  It was because of the deterioration we had to do a complete deck remediation after tearing off the existing roof.  This required the cleaning out of the flutes of the metal deck, wire brushing the metal deck or replacing the badly deteriorated deck, vacuuming off the rust that was wire brushed and coating the deck with epoxy.
